Here’s a bit about our organization and the project:

Sirkhane, officially known as the Art Anywhere Association, was founded in 2012 in the Mardin province of Southeast Turkey. What began as a social circus school for children has now grown into a vibrant organization offering programs in circus arts, music, analog photography, science and technology, children’s rights education, and annual children's festivals. Over the past decade, Sirkhane has reached half a million children throughout the region, including Northern Iraq. Our programs operate from two children’s centers and through mobile outreach caravans.

Since 2011, Sirkhane has welcomed over a thousand volunteers year-round. Volunteers work directly with children and perform at the annual festival, bringing joy and inspiration through circus, music, art, photography, dance, and other creative activities.

The volunteers will take part in daily activities of Sirkhane 5 days a week and 8 ours each day together with local team. The activities are diverse and depends on the time period that volunteer will be involved. Some of the task are: preparing the materials, spaces and programs for the classes and workshops, teaching children and youth circus and other artistic skills together with other teachers and volunteers. During the festivals and mobile programs volunteers will be performing together with children and youth in mobile festivals. From time to time office works and logistic helps are required for the festivals therefore strong collaboration with local team is very important.
